Neighborhood Ambassador Program

What is the Neighborhood Ambassador Program?

The Neighborhood Ambassador Program's purpose is for Estes Valley Fire Protection District (EVFPD) to engage with residents on a neighborhood level in an effort to identify neighborhood vulnerabilities, empower neighborhoods to develop and implement mitigation projects, and connect communities within Estes Valley to strengthen our collective wildfire resilience.

What projects can EVFPD assist my neighborhood with?

  • Conduct a neighborhood-wide risk assessment
  • Chipping/slash program development
  • Help guide your neighborhood to become a fire-adapted community
  • Support your neighborhood in the planning and execution of mitigation events
  • Support grant management for wildfire mitigation work

What does a Neighborhood Ambassador do?

A Neighborhood Ambassador acts as a central point of contact between an individual neighborhood and EVFPD and other affiliated organizations. Being an Ambassador is more than just a contact point, however. An Ambassador serves as a catalyst and champion for neighborhood mitigation projects, planning and carrying out short-term and long-term goals, and assists EVFPD with conducting risk assessments for the neighborhood as a whole.

Who can become a Neighborhood Ambassador?

You can! You don't need to have any prior experience in the Fire Service in order to become an Ambassador. All we need from you is a willingness to learn, and a motivation to make lasting change in your neighborhood! EVFPD is proud to share our knowledge with Ambassadors, including workshops on conducting home assessments, fundamentals of wildfire risk, and how to connect with neighbors effectively!

Ambassador Interest Form

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Fire-Adapted Neighborhood Ambassador with Estes Valley Fire Protection District! This program was developed with the goal of EVFPD partnering with the local neighborhoods in our District, in an effort to assist with mitigation efforts, enhancing education on best practices, and furthering neighbor engagement and cooperation.

This form is not a commitment to becoming an ambassador, but merely a request to get more information if you are interested. Upon submitting this form the program coordinator will contact you to speak more about your individual neighborhood. If you have any additional questions you can contact the Prevention Division: Prevention@estesvalleyfire.org
